Page list

The page_list block automatically lists the child pages of a chosen parent page as a grid of cards (title, link, and meta description). Use it for section landing pages (e.g. a "Docs" or "Services" index) where you want the list of sub-pages to stay in sync automatically as pages are added, removed, or unpublished.

There are no manually-entered list rows for this block. The editor only picks a parent page; the CMS auto-populates the list from that parent's live child pages at build time.

Fields

Field Description Required?
heading Section heading shown above the list. Placeholder example: "Related Pages". If left blank, a heading is auto-generated from the parent page's title. No
Parent page ID The numeric ID of the parent page whose live child pages should be listed. Yes

HTML safety

heading is escaped and rendered as plain text. Each auto-generated card's title, url, and meta_description are also escaped and rendered as plain text. All fields on this block are escaped as plain text; there is no raw-HTML field here, and there's nothing to manually enter besides the heading and the parent page ID.

This block also supports the standard appearance controls: background color, padding, margin (it does not have separate text color or border controls).

Using it

{{block:docs-section-index}}

Typically placed at the top of a section landing page, just below any intro copy, so visitors see an up-to-date list of everything under that section.

Example

A "Docs" landing page that lists every published page underneath it:

Field Value
heading (left blank)
Parent page ID 60 (the "Docs" page's ID)

Because heading is blank, the rendered heading is auto-generated from the parent page's own title, e.g. "Docs". At build time, the block finds all live (published) pages whose parent is page 60, and renders one card per page using each page's title, URL, and meta description. Publishing a new child page under "Docs" adds a new card automatically on the next build; no edit to this block is needed.
