Embed
The embed block drops raw third-party embed code (an <iframe>, a map, a video player, and similar) directly into a page. Use it whenever you need to embed content from an external service that provides its own HTML snippet.
Because this block renders arbitrary HTML unescaped, the admin editor shows a security warning next to the code field: only paste embed code from sources you trust.
Fields
| Field | Description | Required? |
|---|---|---|
body_text | The embed/iframe HTML to render, e.g. <iframe src="https://..." ...></iframe>. | Yes |
heading | Optional caption shown above the embedded content. Placeholder example: "Embedded map showing our office location". | No |
border_enabled | Checkbox. When checked, draws a border around the embedded content. | No |
border_width | Border thickness (e.g. 2px), shown only when border_enabled is checked. Defaults to 1px if left blank while enabled. | No |
privacy_mode | Checkbox. When checked, the embed isn't loaded until the visitor clicks a placeholder, instead of loading automatically on page view. | No |
Unlike most block types, embed does not have background color, text color, padding, or margin fields; its appearance controls are limited to the border toggle and width above.
HTML safety
body_text is rendered without escaping, by design. It is the one field on this block meant to carry raw HTML, since that's the whole point of an embed code snippet. heading (the caption) is escaped and rendered as plain text.
Using it
{{block:office-location-map}} Typically placed on a "Contact" or "Locations" page (for a map embed), or inside a blog post to embed a video or interactive widget.
Example
A "Contact" page embedding a map iframe, with a caption and a light border, using privacy mode so the third-party map doesn't load (and set cookies) until the visitor opts in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
body_text | <iframe src="https://maps.example.com/embed?q=..." width="600" height="450" loading="lazy"></iframe> |
heading | Embedded map showing our office location |
border_enabled | Checked |
border_width | 2px |
privacy_mode | Checked |
With privacy_mode on, visitors first see a "Click to load" placeholder in place of the map; the actual iframe HTML only gets inserted into the page after they click it, which avoids loading third-party trackers for every page view.
