The Hypnotoad Server
Hypnotoad is the production application server bundled with Mojolicious, the process model behind the cms.pl deployment: preforked, master + workers, with hot reload. Chinaski ships with either measure of running it: hypnotoad directly (for single-box/offline scenarios) or cms.pl daemon under systemd (the standard production path with a reverse proxy). This page orients both; subpages cover the server model, zero-downtime reloads, the shipped configuration, and the systemd deployment pattern.

Read the install/hypnotoad.conf that ships with Chinaski: plain-HTTP single-server defaults, bind choice, and the no-proxy security posture.
How Chinaski runs as a preforking hypnotoad daemon: master and workers, CHINASKI_WORKERS sizing, the listen address, and what it means for operators.
Why the standard production path skips hypnotoad's config: the chinaski@N systemd unit sets restarts, limits, hardening, and per-instance env.
Reload hypnotoad without dropping connections: signal the master process with kill -USR2, what happens to workers, and how graceful stop differs.
